Hlavacek has been a well-established name in the north shore area for about 100 years. The original owner, a botanist from Bohemia, came to America in the early part of the 1900’s and started a greenhouse on the outskirts of Chicago. Business grew and they moved along the North Shore, where his family added fresh flowers to the greenhouse. In the early 70’s Ron Hlavacek the grandson decided to branch out on his own and opened up Ron Hlavacek Florist in Glenview. Ron and his wife Nancy worked very hard to make this flower shop a huge success, carrying on the family name.In 2000, Ron and Nancy made the decision to retire. They met with the current owners Maria and Dale Woltmann and instantly knew they were the perfect fit to take over the business! Maria had been in the floral industry for over 32 years. She formerly owned a flower shop in Chicago for many years and loves using her creativity to bring her customers visions to life! She specializes in offering artistic ideas for weddings, special events and parties and often exceeds expectations of her customers!Dale formerly worked the wholesale side of the floral industry at one of the local wholesalers and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in flowers and plants, to complimpent Maria's creative eye! Together, they bring unsurpassed experience and knowledge of the floral industry, making Hlavacek Florist a stand out and top choice for all your floral needs! In addition, they have a son who can be seen helping out at the shop at busy times or even sharing his musical talents for special shop occasions! They are a true example of the family business tradition and pride themselves on excellent customer service, creative and artistic insights and exceeding the needs of their customers! They thank their staff members who have been loyal part of the family for many years and they know it would not be possible without them. In addition, we would like to thank our customers for continually giving us the support and opportunity to grow! Our shop serves our in house floral arrangements in the following areas in Illinois: Des Plaines, Evanston, Glenview, Glencoe, Golf, Highland Park, Kenilworth, Morton Grove, Mount Prospect, Niles, Northbrook, Northfield, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Skokie, Techny, Wilmette, and Winnetka.
A local delivery fee of $10.00 will be added to each order, for each address. (For deliveries outside our local delivery area, this fee may vary.)U.S. orders must be received before 12:00 noon in the recipient's time zone to assure same-day delivery. Orders received after that time will be delivered the following day.We will do our best to accommodate deliveries at specific times of day, but we cannot guarantee it. Orders made through our website during the evening are deliverable the next day, but SPECIFIC TIMES OF DAY ARE NOT GUARANTEED - contact shop via phone if special delivery times are critical!We are unable to make deliveries on Sundays. Deliveries requested on this day will be delivered the following business day.Delivery of orders to rural route addresses or cemeteries cannot be guaranteed.We will be happy to accept your international orders if you call our shop directly. We are unable to accept international orders over the Internet.
Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.
